Darth Maul had his entire body ceremonially tattooed in red and black pigments when he was less than a year old. This was later stripped from him and replaced with ancient sith tattoos. This was a painful process, personally done by Darth Sidious. Definitely, one of my favorite sith lords in the Star Wars universe!
